About Us

The Monarch Fellowship is a grass roots community action network of volunteers throughout California. We send volunteers, or “hubs”, free seeds and they grow native milkweed and nectar plants to give away for free in their communities. The goal is to help save monarchs, increase the number of native pollinator gardens, spread awareness about native gardening and encourage neighbors to begin their native gardening journey.

Monarch Butterflies other butterflies and all pollinators such as birds, bees and insects are in decline. We can support their cause by restoring habitat right at homes through native gardening. The native plants and seeds our volunteers give away are intended to jumpstart interest among California homeowners in creating gardens that are both beautiful and functional because they support local wildlife.
